Late last year, global sports management giant IMG Worldwide
chose Smartype to deliver the website for this year's Honda
Indy 300 held on the Gold Coast.
Asked to develop an extensive but user-friendly online resource
for race fans, Smartype built a website that has well exceeded
the stated objectives for the project. Through great design,
savvy programming and clever marketing; Smartype have helped
IMG Worldwide increase online ticket sales, develop a comprehensive
database of users for future marketing and continually grow
the level of involvement with the target audience as the day
of the event draws closer.
Based on the amount of traffic visiting the site, Smartype
also coordinated the development of a 3D Racing game in a
cross-promotional deal with Falken Tyres who sponsored the
cost of the application. The game has been a great success
and it has been this kind of creative approach to online marketing
that has so impressed IMG Worldwide management and the 35,000
users the Indy site is now getting each month (as of September
2002).
The website is updated weekly by IMG using our ismart content
management interface. This system allows IMG to provide the
latest news for site users at a fraction of the cost it would
take to have this work completed outside the firm.
IMG have been very impressed with the professionalism of
our team and the cooperative approach that allows us to deliver
the highest quality websites in an affordable way. Smartype
has also produced the website for the Bob-Jane T-Mart Bathurst
1000 being organised by IMG and based on the success of these
two projects have now also been awarded the contract for developing
the online for Subaru Rally of Canberra Website. Online development
has been a real strength for us over the past few years but
we also continue to produce an impressive catalogue of design,
marketing and printing work from our talented team.
Thanks for reading this newsflash - now that this race is
about to begin we thought it was time to give ourselves a
pat on the back. We hope you enjoy these great events!
The site is already large and growing - so see what's new
